#GIVEBACK

If I were ever asked what my favorite animal was, I would say the elephant! The elephant is such a majestic and lovable creature, yet it is also a very intelligent creature. Seriously, have you seen them painting in those videos all over Youtube? Anyways, I decided to open up my post with the elephant because I wanted to remind everyone to give back. It's not too late to add another bullet point to your resolution list for 2016. Just like the elephant and many many many other organizations, giving back could benefit them more than you think. Also, by giving back I don't just mean donating money. There are other ways one could give back. Giving back could be as little as making someone smile, to planting a tree. Or, if you're like me, you could make a post on any of your social media accounts to raise awareness. For example, on my Instagram account I posted this photo and captioned it #savetheelephant. Others may say that our generation is self observed and uninformed, but we're not. We're all proving to be smarter than we seem. So, let's use some of the resources we have and give back. Finally, below I left a small list of ideas to give back, check them out and try to complete at least one of them.

Ideas:
  • Give Compliments
  • # Your Posts
  • Join A Club
  • Volunteer
  • Show Your Appreciation

P.S. If you have any ideas, feel free to share them in the comment section.

EAST NOVEMBER

After taking time to readjust to my new academic life, I am thrilled to announce I will be returning to my blog. In addition, I've decided to make a few changes to the blog. First, I decided to change the name of the blog to East November. In all honesty, I was a bit bias when it came to choosing the month November since it's the month of my birthday. Anyways, since I'm also a New York lover thanks to Gossip Girl, I put together the name East November. Furthermore, I am still looking forward to sticking with my original content, which is fashion and lifestyle. But, I will be making an addition of posting Polyvore sets to East November. Lastly, because I'm still adjusting to my new semester, I will be posting at least once a month, but I will try my best to make extra posts.

I'm very thrilled to relaunch my blog, and I hope you all can join along on this journey.

RETURN TO REALITY

So, with one week of summer left I've come to explain why I stopped blogging, and my future plans for this blog. First off, this summer was filled with many amazing moments. Once I arrived to Mexico, I was overwhelmed with happiness and serenity. Just being there brought me back to my roots. Anyways, it's selfish of me to say this, but I wanted to enjoy every minute I was there, so I decided to stop posting for a while. Summer is the only time I get to visit my family and rejoin the

BLANK MINDS

If someone were to tell you today, "You're going to become a failure," you would instantly prove them wrong. Or, at least try. Right? But, what if that same statement were to come from your own mind?  What if you questioned your own success? Also, imagine that with the change of a day, your whole life were to flips upside down.  Last weekend, I came upon the realization of two fears I had developed.  One, I am absolutely terrified of failing. And two, I am fearful of change.  Times like these I usually wish for a blank mind.  These beautiful carefree minds would be nothing but a blessing...

TAKE THE ADVENTURE

A quick snap I took last year at the end of my vacation.

In celebration of traveling back to Mexico and visiting my familia, I decided to make a lifestyle post. Anyway, by now everyone is either on vacation, or getting ready to take one. With that being said I just wanted to remind you all that no matter what circumstance, don't let little things that you have no control of bring you down. No matter what you do, whether it's traveling 100's of miles away from home, or taking a small trip, remember to make the most of it.

TRUST THE WISE

He wrote that the best is yet to come, but when is it actually going to come? He wrote that all the world's a stage, but what if you're afraid of both the audience, and the stage? He wrote that we know what we are, yet know not what we may be. So, how do you know if what you're doing is the right thing to become who you want to be?  All of these lines were once written by the great William Shakespeare, but until a few days ago I had not taken these remarks into consideration. To me, they were nothing but words of the the wise. However, today as I sat back and looked out at all my classmates, I though to myself, "Wouldn't it be nice if once we receive our diplomas, we developed all this valuable skills that would be needed to succeed in life?" Unfortunately,

NEW MONDAY

After the long week I had, I can truly say that this was a long awaited weekend that was very well enjoyed. To begin with, last Saturday was my Senior Prom. I danced like there was no tomorrow, and this was the first time in a while that I was actually able to forget about the future and live in the present. Furthermore, on Monday, as part of senior ditch day, my friends and I decided to pay a visit to South Lake Tahoe, California. First, we payed a little visit to the lake and as you can see I had a wonderful time taking pictures. Also, thanks to a one of my friends, I was able to capture those yoga poses that I attempted to do once more. Anyways, later after we all took in the beautiful view of the lake, we went up to Heavenly to pay a visit to an amazing store. The

SEPTEMBER MEMORIES

As you can all tell, clearly I had no idea what I was doing. I give props to those of you who do yoga because it was hard for me to hold my balance for longer than 10 seconds. Anyways, back in September I went to South Lake Tahoe with my friends and it turned out to be a pretty great day. Obviously by the looks of my hair, you can probably tell that it was very windy that day. Because I had never been to a beach or lake, I had no idea for what to wear. Also, it was September and the weather was beginning to cool up so I wasn't going to wear a tank top with shorts. In the end, I decided to wear a very casual outfit. Also, it was Friday so I wanted to keep that laid back look. Anyways, I do wish I would have taken more pictures of my outfit, so that being said, I'll try next time. Happy Sunday, and remember that the weekend will come by faster if you bring a little optimism to your life.

STATE OF PEACE

During my stay in Mexico, I traveled to three different places that have become a tradition visit. One of the places was, Fresnillo, Zacatecas. In this city, a famous church can be found. The reason this church is so special to everyone is because the city it is located in is one of the most spiritual places in Mexico. Plateros, located in Fresnillo, is the land of faith and miracles.

BOHEMIAN INSPIRED MASK

Behind the mask is a person with great dreams, frightening fears, and simple madness. The dreams they have are bigger then we can imagine. However, the fears they have restrain them from fulfilling those dreams. The possibilities dim every moment those fears catch up to them. Fears and dreams then create such a madness that bring them to a realization. We all have fears and dreams, the only difference is that some learn to diminish their fears while others let them gain full control. There is nothing wrong with hiding behind a mask. The mask gives some people confidence, while others simply develop it. The only thing that matters is that we never let go of those dreams. Always remember, the beautiful madness that hides within our minds is what makes us different.
